Der Lübecker Goldgulden von 1341. Krisen, Pest und 'deutsche Hanse'. Lübeck im 14. Jahrhundert

Abstract

Der Beitrag befasst sich mit dem Lübecker Goldgulden, der zwischen 1341 und 1371, dann wieder seit Beginn des 15. Jahrhunderts und bis 1675 in Lübeck geprägt wurde. Das 1340 erhaltene kaiserliche Goldmünzenprivileg war das erste, das eine Stadt nördlich der Alpen erhielt. Gezeigt wird ausgehend von der Münzprägung, welche wirtschaftliche und politische Bedeutung die Stadt Lübeck im 14. Jahrhundert hatte. Auch die Repräsentation und Selbstwahrnehmung der Stadt werden thematisiert.

The article deals with the Lübeck gold guilder, which was minted in Lübeck between 1341 and 1371, then again from the beginning of the 15th century and until 1675. The imperial privilege from 1340, the basis for minting the guilder, was the first that a city north of the Alps received. As the study shows, this gold coin also represents the economic and political importance of the city of Lübeck in the 14th century. The representation and self-perception of the city are also discussed.
