| Beschreibung: | La Basílica de San Francisco de Asís, gravemente dañada tras los primeros terremotos de otoño de 1997, amenazaba con un colapso completo a raíz del estado de difícil equilibrio en que había quedado. La intervención descrita en este artículo explica cómo se pudo consolidar el templo dañado en tiempo récord, poco antes de un seísmo fortísimo que habría provocado con seguridad el derrumbamiento de gran parte de su cubierta, con la grave pérdida que este hecho hubiera supuesto para el patrimonio arquitectónico y la historia del arte italiana. ; The Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, badly damaged in the first tremors in Autumn 1997, was threatened with total collapse due to the difficult state of balance in which it was left. The works described in this article explain how it was possible to consolidate the damaged temple in record time, shortly before the very strong earthquake took place that would almost definitely have caused most of the roof to collapse, with the serious loss this would have involved for architectural heritage and Italian art history. |
