Burgen als Ressourcen des Niederadels

Abstract

Burg und Adel des Mittelalters werden nicht nur in den historischen Forschungen zusammengedacht. Im Detail ist diese ebenso interessante wie populäre Beziehung jedoch ein Desiderat. Zur Schärfung des Gegenstandes nimmt die Dissertation, die in diesem Beitrag vorgestellt wird, beides gemeinsam in den Blick und fragt nach der konkreten Bedeutung von Burgen in der Formierungsphase des niederen Adels zwischen 1250 und 1400.

Castle and nobility of the Middle Ages are not only thought together in historical research. In detail, however, this equally interesting and popular relationship is a desideratum. In order to sharpen the subject matter, the dissertation presented in this article takes a look at both and analyzes the concrete significance of castles in the formation phase of the lower nobility between 1250 and 1400.
