| Description | Le manoir de La Courtinière se développa à partir de bâtiments du début du XVIe siècle selon un programme défini autour de 1540-1550 et qui, par sa régularité et sa symétrie, se rapproche des modèles architecturaux les plus modernes. Le projet fut amplifié en cours de réalisation, probablement dans les années 1560, et le système de distribution se modifia : la transformation du pavillon déjà construit permit alors d’installer un escalier d’un dessin complexe. Simultanément, une transformation radicale eut lieu avec l’installation sur les élévations d'un abondant décor sculpté. Inscrit dans le courant maniériste, il multiplie les citations de l’architecture savante basée sur l’emploi des ordres. Aux visiteurs érudits d’en comprendre les transgressions et d’observer la leçon de perspective donnée par les façades sur cour. Using items of the early Renaissance, the manoir de La Courtinière developed from a first project of the middle of the 16th century. During construction, around 1560, a larger project appeared. Due to the modification of the pavilion already built, the construction of an intricated staircase became possible. The most impressive change was produced by the new decoration of the façades, based on manneristic themes which multiply quotations of refined architecture and orders. It is up to initiated visitors to understand the transgressions and to observe the lesson in perspective given by the façades on the courtyard. | - |
