| Beschreibung | Il rapporto tra Dante e i lettori argentini risale alla prima metà dell’Ottocento. In consonanza con l’interpretazione romantica che caratterizzava la sua lettura in Italia, essi videro nella Commedia, soprattutto, i valori della libertà politica e dell’unità nazionale. Concepito come un’opera universale, privato dei suoi tratti più italiani e medievali, da allora in poi il poema dantesco è stato letto in Argentina come un libro universale e atemporale, in grado di accogliere ogni contingenza storica. In questo lavoro si intende rintracciare il processo di appropriazione politica di cui la Commedia è stata oggetto nell’arco di due secoli di lettura: ci si sofferma sulle caratteristiche della sua circolazione in ogni periodo, e si individuano i valori ideologici ed estetici che essa ha veicolato nel campo letterario argentino, in rapporto con i diversi aspetti della realtà locale ad essa collegati. The relationship between Dante and Argentinian readers dates back to the first half of the 19th century. In agreement with the romantic interpretation that caracterised its reading in Italy, they saw in the Divine Comedy, above all, the values of political freedom and national unity. Conceived as a universal work, deprived of its more Italian and medieval traits, from then on the poem was read in Argentina as a universal and timeless book, capable of recieving every historical context. This work attempts to retrace the process of political appropriation underwent by Dante’s Comedy through two centuries. We concentrate on the characteristics of its circulation in each period, and we identify the ideological and aesthetic values it has trasmitted in the Argentinian literary field, in relation with the different aspects of the local reality connected with the poem. | - |
