DescriptionWalther Hermann Ryff – A Great Plagiarist or a Bridge-builder for Knowledge Transfer in Times of Change from the Middle Ages to Early Modern Times? Walther Ryff published his works on the verge of the early modern period. He was an acclaimed best selling author of his time – although occasional contemporary voices called him a plagiarist too. Modern recipients have to divert their judgement away from a demand for originality towards the effectiveness of his work in terms of laymen education. At the change from the Middle Ages to Early Modern Times Ryff is the perfect "contemporary witness" for knowledge transfer and knowledge transformation. His work on maintaining a person's bodily health – especially the "Confect Buechlin vnd Hausz Apoteck" as well as the "Spiegel unnd Regiment der Gesundtheyt" – is central to my short overview of how medieval concepts change on the transit to early modernism.-
