This richly illustrated catalogue accompanies the traveling exhibition “Cornucopia, Scales, Sword—Justice is a Woman” (“Füllhorn, Waage, Schwert—Justitia ist eine Frau”). In twelve chapters, each corresponding to the “spaces of justice,” the book explores question as to why justice has been depicted as a woman from early history to today. The lawyer Barbara Degen intends to supply evidence supporting the claim that women, and mothers in particular, embody the core elements of justness.	-
