| Description | In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der Drachenkampf als Motiv innerhalb der Literatur des Mittelalters geschildert. Nach einem einleitenden Kapitel zur Begriffsabklärung, Aussehen, Funktion und Vorkommen des Drachen sowie Vorstellungen von Drachen innerhalb anderer Kulturkreise, wird vor allem die Rolle des Drachen innerhalb des Christentums beleuchtet. Danach folgt ein Kapitel zur Darstellung des Drachen innerhalb naturwissenschaftlicher Werke des Mittelalters. Im Anschluss wird eine ausführliche Textanalyse der relevanten Drachenkampfepisoden in den Texten Ortnit, Wolfdietrich, Gottfried von Straßburgs Tristan, Wirnt von Grafenbergs Wigalois, Hartmann von Aues Iwein sowie dem Nibelungenlied vorgenommen. Das letzte Kapitel widmet sich Motiven innerhalb der behandelten Texte, die scheinbar mit der Drachenkampfepisode zusammenhängen. Jene werden analysiert und verglichen. ; The present thesis deals with the dragon fight in the medieval Literature. After a incipient chapter concerning the clarification of the term, the look, the function and the appearance of dragons in the middle ages (and in other cultures), the role of the dragon within the Christianity is worked on. Thereafter a chapter about the description of dragons within natural scientific medieval works follows. Subsequent a detailed analyse of the relevant dragon fight episode inside the texts Ortnit, Wolfdietrich, Gottfried von Straßburg’s Tristan, Wirnt von Grafenberg’s Wigalois, The Nibelungenlied and Hartmann von Aue’s Iwein is following. The last chapter is dedicated to motives, which are connected with the dragon fight episode inside the texts, that were discussed. Those motives got deconstructed and compared with each other. | - |
